The NUFF 2024 jury

NUFF has two juries: The Nordic jury and The International jury. 

The Nordic jury will select 1 winner for best Nordic film, which will be awarded 10 000,- NOK. The Nordic prize sponsored and presented by Foreningen Norden Norway.

The international jury will select one winner for the best international film.

The winners will be presented at the award ceremony on Saturday 26th October at Verdensteatret at 20h. Admission is free.

The Nordic jury

Elin Malene Berg

Elin is the managing director of North Film Distribution and a business advisor for Hermetikken. With a background in economics, she has worked in the cultural sector for years, including festivals like Tromsø International Film Festival. Elin now focuses on distributing Northern Norwegian films and helping filmmakers from concept to launch.

Kent-Einar Myreng

Kent-Einar is originally from Tromsø and now based in Trøndelag, is a journalist and film reviewer. He has also produced documentaries and short films in various genres. Currently, he works for a local newspaper and runs the film website and podcast SpisEnFilm. He holds a bachelor's degree in film studies from NTNU and has closely followed film festivals like TIFF and NUFF for over a decade. Before moving to Trøndelag in 2021, he worked as Marketing and Communications Manager at Nordlysfestivalen.

Margareta F. A. Orkan

Margareta is a director and filmmaker based in Tromsø. She has directed several short films, including The Factory (2017) and Synthbabe (2022). She recently directed an episode of the TV series Brennende Hjerter and has worked on major NRK productions, mainly in post-production. Margareta is currently working on a documentary and an animated film, both expected to premiere next year.

The International Jury

Marina Fu

Marina is a filmmaker and curator from Barcelona, leading the film selection at the u22 Young Film Festival at the Joan Miró Foundation. She has also been a young juror at the Punto de Vista International Documentary Film Festival. With a background in Audiovisual Communication and a year of study at Bauhaus, her work merges documentary, experimental cinema, and video art. Currently specializing in Sound Art at the University of Barcelona, Marina is passionate about socially driven projects that foster cultural exchange and collaborative learning through art.

Sofie Lødding

Sofie was born in Tromsø, and despite her young age, she already has many years of experience in festival and event production. Since 2018, she has been working for the Tromsø International Film Festival (TIFF) and is currently a full-time producer at Verdensteatret Cinematek, our beautiful venue and the “home of TIFF.”

Sofie shares that one of her first volunteer experiences was at NUFF back in 2017, and she’s thrilled to return, now as a jury member! She is representing TIFF at NUFF.

Adrian Kristiansen

Adrian is from Tromsø and is an aspiring future filmmaker who currently studies media in the city. The past few years he has been involved within the film community in Tromsø through the likes of Tvibit, TIFF, Tromsø Filmklubb & the NUFF workshop. The last 2 years he has been apart of «TIFF UNG», a sub-program curating films during TIFF for youth. He has been an active member at Tvibit Film since 2022 and has been making various short films and art projects since then. He most recently wrote and did the sound design for the short film «Ly» which was apart of the 2024 NUFF workshop.
