In Death is Life

Despite taking up just 3% of our planet’s land-surface, peatlands are the largest terrestrial carbon store on Earth. Yet, drained and degraded, peatlands currently contribute 5% of the annual global anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions - doubling those of the aviation industry. But these special ecosystems are so much more than their carbon storage, they are woven into the cultural fabrics of our lives and livelihoods. In Death is Life tells an intimate tale of a community and their connection to this ancient ecosystem in rural Ireland. It will open your eyes to the wonders of Peatland restoration and challenge you to engage with the profound implications of landscape restoration.
