The NUFF 2021 jury

NUFF has two juries: the Nordic jury and the international jury. 

The Nordic jury will select 1 winner for best Nordic film, this last award is 10 000,- NOK sponsored and presented by Foreningen Norden Norway.

The international jury will select one winner for the best international film.

The winners will be presented at the award ceremony on Sunday June 28th at 20:00 at Verdensteatret. Admission is free.

The award statuettes are manufactured by Blåst Glasshytta AS in Tromsø.

 

The Nordic jury

 

Emma Nordstrom, Sweden

“I am a Swedish writer and director and I studied filmmaking at Katrinebergs Folkhögskola, in Sweden, for 2 years. I have written and directed several short films and with my curiousness and passion for the art, I love to get touched of the moving pictures and I will never stop to discover and learn more. I started movEmotion in 2015, which is a production company in Sweden. Since 2019 I live in Norway and continue my filmmaking with one foot in each country. Right now I work as a producer and filmmaker at Verdensteatret and TIFF.”

 
 
 

Tor Edvin Eliassen, Norway

Tor Edvin Eliassen is a cinematographer from Skarstad in northern Norway. He has studied at Nordland College of Art and Film, and at The National Film School in Łódź, Poland. Currently he is working on "Si ingenting", a feature length documentary about the Norwegian rap music artist Kamelen. His film Stige mot lyset / Towards The Light won the Best Nordic Film in the category 21-25 years old at NUFF in 2012.

 
 
 

Philipp Aubel, Germany

Philipp Aubel is the project manager of the Young Film Scene section of the German Federal Association of Youth and Film (Bundesverband Jugend und Film e.V.), maintains the information network and prepares the 57. Werkstatt der Jungen Filmszene.  During his studies (Latin language and history), he helped organise the short film festival "OpenEyes" in Marburg. On a voluntary basis, he is co-organiser of the "QUEER Filmfest Weiterstadt". 

 

The International Jury

 

Alison McCloskey, UK

Alison McCloskey has 20 years experience in coordinating youth and community-led film projects in London and has produced over 200 short films with young people. As Project Manager of the BFI Future Film Academy she is responsible for training young people aged 16-19 in preparing to work in the tv and film industry. She was the Director of the Flipside Youth Film Festival and the main Tutor and Coordinator for Youth Animation and Media, a multi-award winning organisation, running filmmaking workshops for young people in South East London since its inception in November 2002. In 2006, she established YAM on Rye, one of the first festivals in the UK to exclusively showcase films made by young people. Alison is currently an active member of the Youth Cinema Network, an organisation connecting youth film festivals and educators worldwide.

 
 
 

Radka Hoffmanová, Czech Republic

Radka Hoffmanová is the Programmer and Head of Industry at Young Film Fest - International Film Festival for Young Audiences (Prague, Czechia) and International Film Festival ELBE DOCK (Ústí nad Labem, Czechia & Dresden, Germany). Radka studied Radio and TV Dramaturgy and Scriptwriting at Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts (Brno, Czechia) where she is currently a PhD. candidate. Her research focuses on contemporary cinema for youth in a European context. In the past she was an intern at the European Children’s Film Association and as a scriptwriter she collaborated with Czech Radio and Radio and Television of Slovakia.

 
 
 

Ksenija Sankovic , Croatia

Ksenija Sankovic was born in Karlovac, Croatia. Since the beginning of her high school education, she has been involved in filmmaking, production and education. She graduated from the American College of Management and Technology in Dubrovnik and returned to film and teaching and is currently employed by the Technological Culture Community of Karlovac as Media School Leader, held in Cinema Club Karlovac. 

She is part of a core organizational team of Croatian Youth Film Festival and Four River Film Festival, since their residency in Karlovac in 2007, in cooperation with Croatian Film Association. Ksenija works in Karlovac, a city that does not have a cinema, but with her team she organizes different cinema programs and lots of educational programs about media culture. She is coordinator of River Cinema, a big summer open-air cinema event throughout Karlovac county, and runs numerous other programs and workshops. She also works as an associate in the programs of the Croatian Film Association in the field of media culture. She is one of the initiators of Youth Cinema Network - an independent network of film festivals and organizations that promote the work of children and primarily young people.
