Livestream from Verdensteatret Cinema (VT)
Welcome to NUFF's Opening ceremony!
This year's NUFF film program will be accessible to the public in an unusual, new way. With the exception of one block of films (program 1) due to copyright problems, all films will be shown both in the Verdensteatret Cinema in Tromsø, and online with livestream accessible worldwide. The films will only be available live and online at the programmed times.
The program of the ceremony is as follow:
- Welcome
- Presentation and screening of the 7 workshop films
- Screening of the Opening film, A BOY WITH A MOVIE CAMERA.
For our audience in Tromsø, screenings at VT are free of charge, but limited to a maximum of 100 people.

A young boy in Iran wants to be a filmmaker, the greatest filmmaker in the world even, but he meets many obstacles on his path. His village becomes the theater of an epic quest to make his filmmaking dreams come true. Young director Amir Hossein Tabbat was only 13 when he wrote, directed and edited this film, not to forget he was also the make-up artist for the film!
Director's background:
Age 9, Amir Hossein Tabbat started writing science fiction short stories and reading them to his classmates. At the age of 12, he became interested in cinema because he saw the film “One flew over the cuckoo’s nest”. From then on he started making fiction films, and has made 6 fiction films so far.
