The NUFF 2020 jury

NUFF has two juries: the Nordic jury and the international jury. 

The Nordic jury will select 4 winners, one best film for each age group and one best overall Nordic film, this last award is 10 000,- NOK sponsored and presented by Foreningen Norden Norway.

The age categories for Nordic films are: < 18 years old, 19-21 years old, and 22-26 years old.

The international jury will select one winner for the best international film.

The winners will be presented at the award ceremony on Sunday June 28th at 20:00 at Verdensteatret and livestreamed on our website. Admission is free.

The award statuettes are manufactured by Blåst Glasshytta AS in Tromsø.

Ivana Kvesic, Switzerland

Ivana Kvesic (*1978) is Director of the youth film festival Schweizer Jugendfilmtage in Zurich and works as a programmer for the international competition of Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur. She is also a programmer for the oldest open-air cinema «Film am See» of Rote Fabrik Zurich. She is an executive committee member of SWAN (Swiss Women’s Audiovisual Network).  

In the past, she has done several projects on her own such as exhibitions, performances, special film events. For seven years she was president of the cinema collective «Kino Nische».

Lisa Hoen, Norway

Lisa Hoen is the new director of Tromsø International Film Festival. She has worked in the festival for 9 years and also started TIFF’s children’s film festival, TIFF Junior. The last five years she has had the position as Head of Culture and Sports in Tromsø Municipality, and she has worked within the field of media, communication and culture for many years. Lisa studied media and philosophy before starting a local culture and lifestyle magazine in Tromsø in the 90’s.

Toni Nordli, UK/Norway

Toni Nordli is a Norwegian filmworker based in London and has been in the location department on 'Killing Eve' and 'Peter Rabbit 2'. His short film 'Shark Bait' is used for educational purposes around Europe to fight intolerance, he was nominated as 'Best Newcomer' for 'Frostbite' during Tromsø International Film Festival 2015 and is soon completing his short COVID19 love story 'Six Feet of Separation'.

Zuzana Dražilová, CZECH Republic

Director of Prague Teenfilmfest (established in 2019)

Shortly after her studies of production at FAMU and The AU in Washington D.C. she distributed (established the company Sunfilm Ltd.) fiction art and independent films as „Run Lola Run“, „Antonia´s Line“, „The Straight Story“ and many others. Afterwards she was producer and distributor of documentaries made in co-operation with Czech youngsters and TVs („Lost Neighbours“, „Daughters of Enemy“, „Children of Stalinism“ etc.). She was teacher at FAMU and Secondary Art School Michael and also organizes youth film workshops (for ex. „Cinema Camp“ or „Window Into The World“ for youth from children´s Homes).

Sveinung Wålengen, Norway

Sveinung Wålengen (b. 1985) is the director of Verdensteatret Cinema and Cinemateket in Tromsø. He is an educated film scientist with a master's degree in film theory from NTNU. Wålengen has previous experience as cinema manager in Ås and as freelance writer, and has written the book "The travelling cinema in Norway" (Skald Forlag, 2016).

Marte B. Aasen , Norway

Marte B. Aasen is a film editor from Tromsø. She has a degree of Bachelor of Fine Arts, Main Field of Study: Film Editing from Stockholm Univeristy of the Arts from 2018 and works now as an freelance editor within fiction and documentary films.

Marte has been working with films for the last 15 years. She has among other worked on the NRK-series 113 and Iskald, several awarwinning documentaries, short films and music videos.

She used to be a part of NUFF for many years, as an participant, organisor, festival producer and award winner.
