The film has a simple idea, poetic. The story has strong symbolic meaning, shown with easy and simple way. Camera movement, nice music, film does show the simple story and method of narration was chosen in a smart way.
In this film the authors tried to show that human behavior and human nature is something to laugh about. It turned out as fun, dynamic, with the permissible share of obscenities. During few minutes we’ve been told a story about sensitive topic, which people usually do not joking about. This movie makes us laugh and think about it. Without sacrificing the content, with one camera angle we get the whole story.
The best Nordic film is a film that is outstanding through unity of content and form. With elements of silent film, filmmakers managed to build the story on childhood when joy and exploring were most important things in a life.
At the international competition
Lost Chance
by Pauline Awuor Mango & Vinnick Kemuma
The winning film describes the situation of a young boy who is forced to take on adult responsibilities much too soon, possibly losing his only chance to have a real childhood. the filmmakers show rather than tell us how the world looks from his point of view, letting the unobtrusive camera follow his daily routine. the subtle but effective use of music offers a hint of optimism in an apparently hopeless world.

Israel’s blockade preventing a young filmmaker to attend at NUFF 2010
It’s not a secret that the blockade in the Middle East prevents vital resources like water, food and medicines going to the needy people in Palestine. But it is perhaps not as general known that normal people who are travelling out of the area are denied a visa.
For the second time NUFF gives youth in Gaza a chance to participate in this international youth film festival. Gaza, twin city to Tromsø, has been under the Israeli siege since 2007, which prevents the Palestinian youth to participate at NUFF in Tromsø.
June 3rd, to days before the festivals starts with its international film workshops, NUFF will present a foretaste of the program in Oslo at Mediefabrikken.
We invite all young filmmakers to joint he NUFF 2010 film workshops.
