Prod: Heiðrik á Heygum
Dir: Heiðrik á Heygum
Dop: Heiðrik á Heygum
Script: Heiðrik á Heygum
Music: Heiðrik á Heygum
Cast: Óluva Johannesen, Sámal H. Hansen , Maria R. á Heygum, Kristina H. Jacobsen, Heini R. á Heygum, Líggjas Olsen, Elin á Rógvu, Hjálmar Dam
A single mother (Óluva Johannessen) is frustrated to see her son (Sámal H.Hansen) lonely and unhappy, so she decides to buy him a new computer that is so brilliantly designed that it can give her son everything he longs for. A computer that can give him love and deeper understanding. This short film discusses the subject of loneliness and how, in the future, computer technology will be able to cure emotional feelings - like with web 2.0 that we are already using (myspace, Facebook, msn and so on).
Director’s background:
Heiðrik á Heygum was born in 1983 in Tórshavn the capital of the Faroe Islands.
Heiðrik is a musician and film director and at only 25 years of age Heiðrik has great experience in different types of artistic genres for instance photography, scenography, moviemaking and music.
Although a film industry is practically non-existing in the Faroe Islands and there is only a population of 45.000 people, Heiðrik has chosen to work in the business. Heiðrik is therefore quite a pioneer which also means that he has to do most of the work himself as there are no professionals on the islands. But Heiðrik takes this as a challenge and it enables him to gain an insight to all the areas of film making.
Heiðrik made his debut as a video director for his single "Tár Torna" and as a result of this was asked to direct a music documentary in France last year for Yann Tiersen and Orka which is now under post production. Heiðrik has also been doing a video installation for a dance performance with dancer Jóna Thomsen which will premiere in February.
Heiðrik is very inspired by the naivety, pureness and glamour of the classical 50´s and 60´s movies, but he likes to put this unrealistic style up against themes with serious moral and ethical questions.
Heiðrik á Heygum graduated at the Kort og Dokumentar Film Skolen in Denmark in 2008 and is planning to pursue his ambition as a film director.
Filmography:
“Tár Torna” 2006(music video) Writer, director and editor

This is an old and new story. It’s a story of hope for the future, of inspiration, and talent… the story of a girl who dreams of flying and being free through her dancing, escaping closed room and closed lives. She dances her inner soul with elegance, grace, and beauty, wanting to be the person she wants to be. It’s a story of light, beauty, and freedom and its message is clear to parents: children need to express their abilities and talents. The second message is to the children: be open with your parents and not do things behind their backs.
